Ekboi 🎓

When you create an account, we collect your name, email or phone number, password, and academic details (curriculum, class, exam board, exam type, and exam date). You may optionally add gender. If you register through Google, we only receive your name and email from Google — never your Google password.

As you use Ekboi, we store your quiz/CQ/SQ answers and scores, study notes and bookmarks, streaks, and community posts you author.

Ekboi uses AI (Google Gemini) to generate personalized study feedback — quiz debriefs, weak-topic analysis, CQ/SQ answer review, and study plans.

To generate this feedback, we send your academic activity to our AI provider — for example your answers, subject, chapter, and class. In some cases this includes your first name so feedback can be addressed to you personally. We never send your phone number, email, or password to an AI provider.

AI-generated feedback is a study aid, not an official grade. It is meant to help you understand your mistakes faster — your school or exam board's own evaluation is always the authoritative one.

If a parent link is enabled for your account, a parent can view a summary of your progress (name, class, exam date, streaks, and recent quiz/CQ/SQ activity and weak topics) through a private link. We do not share your phone, email, or full answer history through this link.

If a parent's phone number is added, we send a weekly WhatsApp progress summary to that number, along with the private link to view more detail.

Posts and replies in the community section are shown to other students in your class and curriculum, but never under your real name — every student appears under an anonymous animal avatar. Please don't share personal information (your name, phone number, address, etc.) in a community post, since anything you type is visible to others.

The web app stores a single login token (a cookie called ekboi_token) to keep you signed in. The mobile app stores your login token in your device's secure keystore (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain), never in plain storage. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

• Resend — sends transactional emails (OTP codes, account notices)
• Cloudflare R2 — stores uploaded lesson images and files
• Cloudflare Turnstile — a captcha check during signup to block bots
• Google OAuth — optional "Sign in with Google," only if you choose it

We do not sell your data to advertisers, and we do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

Many Ekboi students are under 18. We collect only the academic information needed to run the app, and the parent-portal feature exists so a guardian can stay informed about a student's progress. If you are a parent and believe your child's account was created without your awareness, contact us and we will help resolve it.

You can delete your account and its data at any time — see our Account Deletion page for exactly what gets removed and how.

If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
